En su recorrido por la Isla en busca de la base de los Otros y de Jack, Mikhail vuelve a hablar a Sayid, Kate y Locke de esa misteriosa lista que podría ser la que mencionó Pickett unos episodios atrás, la de Jacob. Cuando el ucraniano está a punto de decir que «el John Locke que él conoce estaba paralítico», se topan con una especie de valla. Hay unos postes conformando lo que parece ser un perímetro. ¿Cómo cerciorarse de que es seguro cruzarla? Locke lo tiene claro: empuja dentro a Mikhail.

El tipo del parche recibe una fuerte descarga y queda ¿herido? ¿muerto? No lo sabemos, porque lo dejan allí y el equipo de rescate sigue adelante, hasta que llegan a VillaOtros y a Jack, que no tiene pinta de necesitar un rescate:

Los flash-backs de este episodio están dedicados a Claire, que causó en Australia un accidente de tráfico que dejó a su madre en coma y que siempre creyó que su padre había muerto cuando ella era un bebé. Mientras, en el campamento, la joven australiana trata de capturar un pájaro migratorio etiquetado para colocarle un mensaje que, con suerte, llegará a alguien que pueda rescatarlos. Charlie trata de ayudarla pero Desmond frustra cualquier intento del músico de acercarse a los pájaros. ¿Por qué? Porque ha visto que Charlie se matará intentando atrapar uno.
